Fish Collagen Peptide Project


Experimental studies to assess the biological effects of the Smartpep’s Fish collagen peptide product in improving the beauty conditions of skin and hair, and the health condition of arthritis

Project objectives
  • To assess the biological activities of the collagen peptide product on human skin for its effects on human skin’s moisture and elasticity, and for its effects on human hair growth.
  • To assess the biological activities of the collagen peptide product on treating MIA-induced joint arthritis.
  • To study peptide’s potential skin whitening effect using human melanocyte A375 cells.
Experimental design
  • Certain human skin and hair-growing areas will be treated with collagen peptide serum for 4 weeks together with vehicle control. Skin moisture and elasticity will be measured on day 1, 5, 10, 15 and 21. 
  • Certain human skin and hair-growing areas will be treated with collagen peptide serum for 4 weeks together with vehicle control. Skin moisture and elasticity will be measured on day 1, 5, 10, 15 and 21. 
  • A375 cells will be used for qPCR test to determine tyrosinase expression levels and tyrosinase gene’s promoter stimulation test to determine peptide’s binding activity.
